FAQ
Answers about accounts, sync, privacy, and how Catanzee is used.
These are the questions people usually ask when deciding whether they want to use Catanzee for a quick casual session or for a longer game night with saved history and private hands.
Do I need an account?
You need an account if you want personal saved history, cross-device sync, password reset, or private digital hand features. You can still use the host roller without fully registering every player.
What gets saved?
Saved data includes current game state, archived game history, roll totals, long-run stats, and live-table hand information for signed-in experiences.
Can players keep physical cards?
Yes. The host can skip digital registration and still use Catanzee as a shared dice and statistics tracker while the table uses physical cards.
Does everyone see my hand?
No. A player's phone is intended to be private. The host screen only shows seat status, public table state, and card-count totals, not the actual hidden contents of a hand.
What happens if a phone disconnects?
The host can re-open that seat's QR code from the player row. The player can reconnect and continue from the same seat without creating a whole new table.
Does the app force discard rules?
Yes. When a seven is rolled, players above the discard threshold are blocked until they return the required number of cards to the bank.
How are ads handled?
Ad support is intended to stay limited and low-friction. Ads are not meant to interrupt gameplay and are only considered after a user has enough completed games to unlock them.
Is gameplay public?
No. Catanzee is not a social network, public scoreboard, or publishing platform. It is a focused tabletop utility with account-scoped history and private hand state.
